DeperoFuturista: Rome-Paris-New York, 1915-1932 and more (Skira, 1999; 194 pages, hardcover $50) was published in conjunction with an exhibition on loan to The Wolfsonian-FIU from the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, Italy. The book examines the work of Fortunato Depero (1892-1960), a leading figure in Italian Futurism, the avant-garde movement that began in 1909. It examines his paintings, sculpture, graphic design, furniture, decorative objects and staged performance pieces, all of which celebrated technology and sought to break down traditional divisions in the arts. It is available through The Wolfsonian-FIU museum shop by calling 305.535.2680 or e-mail museumshop@thewolf.fiu.edu. |
